Baseball 2007 predictions

I can honestly say that I am excited for major league baseball this year.It might have a bit to do with the job that I hold during the baseball season...or it could be that the sport is growing on me, again.

So what to do but to predict this years World Series Teams and Winner.

Last year I predicted Detroit and St.Louis. Call it a lucky guess, but I had Detroit winning it all.

This I am going with Detroit facing off with the Los Angeles Dodgers. And Detroit taking home the trophy.

You heard it here first.

Anybody got some predictions of their own??

I want one!!!

Just how sweet are the Blazer Rookies?

This was taken off of a Blazer fan site: IamaBlazerfan! The poster was:Chris Helgeson

"Ok, now I know that statistics tend to put a skewed view on things because they don't take into consideration the talent surrounding the player, the player's role, schedule, etc. But just take a look at these little comparisons...

Before the Wizards game, Brandon Roy was averaging 15.8 points, 4.0 assists and 4.3 rebounds per game through 44 games.

In Clyde Drexler's Sophomore year, the first year he got serious action, Clyde averaged 17.2 points, 5.5 assists, and 6 rebounds per game and only started in 43 games.

Or how about Scottie Pippen, who in his second year- again the first year he was in the starting lineup- he averaged a very Roy-like 14.4 points, 3.5 assists, and 6.1 rebounds per game.

Then, there's rookie #2 LaMarcus Aldridge. Prior to the Wizards game, in which he scored 25 points and grabbed 8 boards, Aldridge was averaging 8.5 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks per game in 56 games as a rookie. Once inserted into the starting lineup, however, his stats jumped to 14.5 points, 8.6 boards and 1.75 blocks per game.

Now, who does this remind you of?

Maybe, Kevin Garnett? Garnett as a rookie averaged 10.4 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks per game in 80 games as a rookie (53 starts).

Then, there's my personal favorite Sergio Rodriguez. Now, everyone knows Sergio is the man, but who is his best NBA comparison? As a rookie, Sergio's averaged 3.3 points per game, 1.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game in 51 games,

Right now, they may not seem like two-time MVP statistics but give it a few years, because Sergio's stats are almost a mirror image of point guard Steve Nash. As a rookie, Nash averaged 3.3 points per game, 1.0 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game in 65 games (2 starts). And the kicker is that they both averaged around 11 minutes per game....

I don't think any GM in the league could manage to put Steve Nash, Kevin Garnett and a young Scottie Pippen/Clyde Drexler hybrid on the same team, but that just may be what the Trail Blazers have!"

Kindove neat huh?

Parting from Gujarat (India) leaves thorns in my chest
My heart-on-fire pounds impatiently in my breast
What cure can heal the wound of living apart
The scimitar of exile has cut deep into my heart
And thank God's mercy, He let that passion remain!
The heart's still anxious to catch a glimpse of my Gujarat(India)again

The NCAA tournament

I love this time of year. Not because of the sun. Or the trees actually starting to look beautiful and all blossomy or the fact that I get to ride a riding lawnmower all over the Village site. I love this time of year because of all the basketball that is played. No, not Blazer ball (I still believe), but college ball. The tournament is almost half over now and amazingly the Oregon Ducks are still in it. I actually have them taking it all three of my brackets.

This year there has been some good ball played. The fun thing is that not to many upsets have happened to this point. Unless you count the overrated Duke getting ousted an upset.

I look forward to Thursday and Fridays ball games.

Go Ducks!

David Crowder info

So apparently the David Crowder Band is putting together a new record. I am especially excited to hear this. I have been waiting for some new music from these dudes for a while. Crowder's music can put me into a worshipful mood anytime of day or night.

I am sad however to hear/see that Solley will no longer be with the band. They got some kid (they call him The Kid)...see video below...to replace him.

One of the cool things that the DCB* is doing however is a website totally dedicated to documenting the entire recording process.

Check it out HERE!

So folks...check them out!

Also here is the link to David Crowders blog site: RIGHT HERE! he is a funny man. Go and laugh!

TO A CHILD DANCING IN THE WIND

by: W. B. Yeats (1865-1939)

ANCE there upon the shore;
What need have you to care
For wind or water's roar?
And tumble out your hair
That the salt drops have wet;
Being young you have not known
The fool's triumph, nor yet
Love lost as soon as won,
Nor the best labourer dead
And all the sheaves to bind.
What need have you to dread
The monstrous crying of wind?

Blazers crush the Bobcats

Holy Cow! What a freakishly awesome game for Portland tonight. Nothing really to complain about. We led in almost all stat categories. And we whooped the Bobcats by a mere 37 points. At one point we were up by 44 points. By the way the record is 50 set in 1982, I believe against Cleveland.

The night was crazy though. Probably our most memorable game of the season. Especially when you figure in that all of the Blazer starters were benched at the end of the third or beginning of the fourth quarter.

Dare I say it? We could win a few games with a team like this.

By the way...Good riddance Steve Patterson!

Switchfoot gets bootlegged!

Switchfoot is doing something really cool on their latest tour. They are giving out official bootlegs at the end of their shows. This is a great way to keep the experience of the concert with you for years to come. You can jam to the concert if you were there and even if you weren't. How cool is that?

You can either sign up for the Itunes podcast and get all of the releases to date.

Or...

You can go HERE to a nice website that lets you download the files for FREE!
