Just how sweet are the Blazer Rookies?

This was taken off of a Blazer fan site: IamaBlazerfan! The poster was:Chris Helgeson

"Ok, now I know that statistics tend to put a skewed view on things because they don't take into consideration the talent surrounding the player, the player's role, schedule, etc. But just take a look at these little comparisons...

Before the Wizards game, Brandon Roy was averaging 15.8 points, 4.0 assists and 4.3 rebounds per game through 44 games.

In Clyde Drexler's Sophomore year, the first year he got serious action, Clyde averaged 17.2 points, 5.5 assists, and 6 rebounds per game and only started in 43 games.

Or how about Scottie Pippen, who in his second year- again the first year he was in the starting lineup- he averaged a very Roy-like 14.4 points, 3.5 assists, and 6.1 rebounds per game.

Then, there's rookie #2 LaMarcus Aldridge. Prior to the Wizards game, in which he scored 25 points and grabbed 8 boards, Aldridge was averaging 8.5 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks per game in 56 games as a rookie. Once inserted into the starting lineup, however, his stats jumped to 14.5 points, 8.6 boards and 1.75 blocks per game.

Now, who does this remind you of?

Maybe, Kevin Garnett? Garnett as a rookie averaged 10.4 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks per game in 80 games as a rookie (53 starts).

Then, there's my personal favorite Sergio Rodriguez. Now, everyone knows Sergio is the man, but who is his best NBA comparison? As a rookie, Sergio's averaged 3.3 points per game, 1.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game in 51 games,

Right now, they may not seem like two-time MVP statistics but give it a few years, because Sergio's stats are almost a mirror image of point guard Steve Nash. As a rookie, Nash averaged 3.3 points per game, 1.0 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game in 65 games (2 starts). And the kicker is that they both averaged around 11 minutes per game....

I don't think any GM in the league could manage to put Steve Nash, Kevin Garnett and a young Scottie Pippen/Clyde Drexler hybrid on the same team, but that just may be what the Trail Blazers have!"

Kindove neat huh?
